California Dreamin'

Nik and I spent a long weekend with my parents, Shaun (brother) and Natalie (Shaun's wife). We stayed in a condo on Mission Bay in San Diego, and had what we would consider, the last family vacation before the six of us turns into seven.
Mom and Dad vacation in San Diego every year, and in 2007, they found a place on the beach that rents segways (pictured to the left). These crafty little inventions are so much fun. Once standing on them, they have an on-board sensor that keeps you balanced at all times. Then all you need do is lean your hips forward to go forward and pull back to slow down. Quite in-genious. They even have a governor on the throttle, so that if you try to go more than 12mph, it slows you down, by adjusting the handle bars back toward your body. Anywho, Mom and dad decided that we all needed to try these contraptions out.. So after breakfast on Friday morning, the six of us ventured over to the segway store and learned how to ride. Long story short, here is a picture of Nikki and Natalie cruising down the path on the beach. We had a ball, and... I think I found a way to enter the next half-marathon with Nikki. You don't think they'd notice if I rode one of these do you?

it kind of looks like you rented the binocular contraption you use to look at alcatraz...only it's portable...and at midget height
