The End of An Era

Five years and fifteen trips ago, Nik and I became Annual Passholders at Disneyland. It was then that we realized that we would be doomed to be children for the rest of our lives. We still get a rush going down Main Street for the first time on a trip; we enjoy eating at the Blue Bayou; and I typically choke back a tear during the fireworks show. This time was bittersweet, though, because we spent our days dreaming of the day when we would be able to take our kids to Disneyland, but lamenting the idea of giving-up our couples' time at the Happiest Place on Earth. As of July 24th, our Annual Passes run-out and we say goodbye to the end an era (Cue sad, remorseful music).
Walking out of the Park this time, felt like saying goodbye to an old friend.

It truly is a world of laughter, a world of tears, a world of hope, and a world of cheer. There's so much that we share that it's time we are aware... it's a small world after all!

Let me just tell you this, the first time you take Drew when he's old enough to "get it" will be the best trip to Disneyland you've ever taken. Seeing it through your own child's eyes is a completely different experience. It almost feels like your first time all over again.
