Belly Bud-don
As Nikki enters Week 26 of pregnancy, we have noticed that her belly button has formed an area that is perfect for an earbud. Therefore, I feel this is God letting me know that Drew is ready for some good tunes. So here is the first list of songs that I want to play for Drew, while still in the womb.
BABY JAMS I :
1. No Such Thing -- John Mayer
2. Savior King -- Hillsong United
3. You & Me -- Lifehouse
4. Divine Romance -- Phil Wickham
5. Message In a Bottle -- Police
6. Where the Streets Have No Name -- U2
7. Little Wonders -- Rob Thomas
8. 100 Years -- 5 for Fighting
9. Desperado -- The Eagles
10. So Much To Say -- Dave Matthews Band
PS -- I want my child well-educated on music that rocks... I would love suggestions for Baby Jams II.

If this kid is really going to be educated, he needs some Beatles. Start with the early stuff - "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "She Loves You," "A Hard Day's Night," "Eight Days A Week," then move on to the later stuff - "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Helter Skelter," the entire side 2 of Abbey Road. This should be in all baby books.
You could always do the test from Scrubs to make sure that Drew isn't gay. Play "Macho Man" and see if he dances. Another adverse effect is it could induce an early labor because the kid wants to get away from the music...but at least you'd know he was straight.
Jason-- you crack me up! It is so fun to read about what is going on with you guys! I will be praying for you as you prepare for Drew's arrival! See you in August for the baby shower. Tell Nikki hi for me.

I think that you should compile a classic Disney playlist for Drew to listen to. Start with- "It's a small world", "Under The Sea", "In A World Of My Own" (Alice In Wonderland), "A whole New World", "I'll Make A Man Out Of You"(Mulan).
Very nice starting point. Seeing Mayer in the 1 spot put a smile on my face :).
I second Pete's Beatles motion... maybe We Can Work It Out or Penny Lane.
I'd also throw a little Foo his way... some Lifehouse and Maroon5, the ladies like that stuff.
Four musical suggestions from a random fellow who stumbled across your journal.
1) Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want.
2) Lenny Kravitz - American Woman
3) Three Dog Night - Mama Told Me Not to Come
4) The Who - Baba Yaga
Three of these songs bear the stain of regret, but also demonstrate a defiant resilience that we all need. And the other song encourages listening to Mama. S'all good.
