I come from a lifetime of sitcom enjoyment, to name a few: MASH, Cheers, The Cosby Show, Night Court, Mad About You, Perfect Strangers, Full House, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, and Friends. All of these had their time on prime time television, and all of them enjoyed a stint of success, and now enjoy reaping the profits from a thing we call "syndication." Isn't it interesting, though, how a writer can create a fascinating group of characters, that if they can make it into Season 2, they have a chance to become a household name. Yet, at some point, a writer can only develop a character to a certain point before they become trivial to viewers. In many circumstances, characters that were young become "middle-aged", marriages happen, children are conceived and grow to be teenagers, and eventually we lose interest in these characters, and most people can't remember how many of the aforementioned sitcoms even ended.
Are we the same way? Do we lose our zest over time? Nik and I are more exciting now than when we were in college... We don't have the same energy levels, but that's another blog. We travel to more exotic places than Apache Junction, and we enjoy a wealth of friends that I feel enrich our lives in many different ways. To even begin to name the people would take-up more cyberspace than Google would allow, but I am so thankful that because of these friends, we won't have to worry about being "too mundane for prime-time."
